Angola is rich in marine and fisheries resources. Fisheries have enormous potential in the Republic of Angola given its vast coastline stretching for 1650 km. The waters have the richest fish stock in Africa. Major rivers extend for a total of 10,000km and there are also small streams around. Inland fisheries had a significant increase in 2011 with a 65% growth from the previous years. Remarkable recovery has been noted in semi-industrial production where the growth went up by 96% in 2011.
